As many of you are aware, I HAD a very successful humor blog here on WordPress. That blog, THE IDIOT SPEAKETH, gave me great joy in writing for over 5 years. In that time, it also garnered about 3.5 million views and had 2,700 subscribers. It was a HUMOR blog. To add to the original humor posts and to the other humor content that I displayed, I often used photos, graphics, cartoons, etc. from Google Images, just as most of the blogging world and Facebook worlds currently do. Well, in those 5 years of the humor blog, I got one too many complaints from copyright holders of some of the photos and graphics I had used. WordPress suddenly shut the humor blog down. Instantly, I was no longer able to log into it and was unable to tell any of the 2,700 subscribers why the blog had suddenly vanished.
I thought that was the end of it.
I purchased a domain on another platform and went about starting the humor blog all over from scratch. (www.theidiotspeaketh.com)
Then, I was informed that ALL of the other blogs that I maintained on WordPress were also going to be shut down, even though there has never been a single digital copyright complaint against any of my other blogs. One of the blogs that WordPress was going to shut down, is this blog.
I have been trying to deal with WordPress concerning this blog because last year, I purchased the domain for this blog. As I own the domain, my position is that the content and the url are mine. WordPress is still intent on deactivating my entire account and all my blogs, including this one, so I had to move fast since they said I had 14 days to retrieve my content before this blog vanishes.
I have been working with the platform host GoDaddy.com and am in the middle of switching hosting platforms for this blog. This process is supposed to take 5-7 days to complete. I have already paid the nescessary fees to start the process in motion.
What this means is that this blog WILL live on, with the same URL that it now has.
The tricky part is how easily all the content will transfer over to GoDaddy. GoDaddy does offer WordPress-supported blog templates so the appearance should remain the same. The big question is whether or not all the data will easily transfer.
As a precaution, I have made Word Documents with ALL the posts from this blog. (No pictures though)
Worse case scenario, I will REBUILD the blog from scratch by reposting all the copied posts once the blog platform has been changed.
All of MY posts and all of the wonderful personal testimonies that many of you provided, dealing with your own battles with CES, will NOT be lost.
So, if in a week or so, the appearance drastically changes, or if posts suddenly vanish, don’t worry…. I’ll start reconstructing the blog as quickly as possible.
Thanks for all your continued support!
See you soon on the new and improved cesnightmare.com
(If things get screwed up during the transfer, you may need to resubscribe once the changeover had occured in order to get new updates)
